I can relate very well, it would be an interesting exercise to pair other works of literature with the most appropriate body of water...

These are fantastic, I love the literary links, to me they evoke a vivd atmospheric solitude.
I know both bodies of water and though I'm less familiar with the books they sound appropriate.
I really like the second one! I'm reminded, though, of once losing a copy of The Idiot overboard while boating.
