This reminds me of Seamus Heaney's "Digging." It's a longer poem, but definitely worth a good read.
There seems to be a bigger narrative beneath this one, and I really like how it can move backwards and forwards between the sound of the voice and the sound of the spade.
I like how it is almost ambiguous - it could be either you or your father digging and wincing
