Is the suggestion that old George is not as fast as he used to be? I can certainly relate to that. Or am I missing something? I can relate to that, too.
No Bill, you're not missing anything! It's a vague one to me too as we don't really know what George is up to - we don't know him that well, one of those neighbours you observe from a distance. He put up the lights at the start of November - which was very early for the UK - we thought at the time that perhaps he was losing touch a bit. But then he didn't light them till last week - showing he's clearly on the ball. On reflection we wonder if perhaps he had family visit on that earlier occasion to help him put them up. These stories play out all around us and make for poetic opportunities as you know!
