I have seen this tentativeness in snow before, but not lately! We've had quite enough, no more is welcome!

Snow is tentative in the UK. It must be cold for us to get it here in Hampshire. When it started late yesterday, it was exactly as you describe.

Oh they are plenty welcome here. I didn't have to go to work today. I sat and watched them fall outside my window. Better days I can't recall.

I always love the arrival of some snowflakes but the welcome wears out after a few days.

These would be the flakes that fall at the end of the season!

A lovely poem. Snow does fall tentatively. Thanks for drawing such a lovely picture with words.

Beautiful, but I had to laugh. By this time of winter, lots of people here in Maine never say the word snow without a certain adjective in front of it!

We don't get snow here, but I would so welcome some, but not like what has been happening lately in other areas.

And they pack tight, to avoid taking too much space, yet not too tight that they should inconvenience each other.
